Overview

Nalagana Waterfall is a scenic 40-metre-high waterfall located at Dedugala in the Kegalle District. The waterfall originates from the Ritigaha Oya reservoir and descends through multiple chutes, each approximately 40 metres in height, creating a layered and dramatic appearance.

Situated about 9 km east of Bulathkohupitiya, Nalagana Ella remains relatively peaceful compared to more commercial waterfall sites. Although it lies about 5 km from Bulathkohupitiya along the Dolosbage Road, the waterfall itself is not directly visible from the main road.

To reach the falls, visitors must walk approximately 250 metres along a gravel road branching to the right toward the river. The short walk makes it an easy-access waterfall suitable for most visitors.

The nearest town is Bulathkohupitiya, while Kitulgala is located about 41 km away, making it possible to combine this visit with other Kelani River basin attractions.
