Overview
Nonpareil Estate Falls is a striking multi-tiered waterfall located within Nonpareil Estate near Belihuloya in the Ratnapura District of Sri Lanka’s Sabaragamuwa Province. The waterfall is formed by Hirikatu Oya, a lesser-known stream that flows through the estate.
The cascade descends approximately 40–45 metres in three distinct segments, creating a stepped waterfall that stands out against the surrounding tea estate landscape. Several smaller unnamed cascades can also be found along the same stream within the estate.
One of the key features of Nonpareil Estate Falls is its visibility from the estate road that connects Belihuloya toward the Horton Plains region. Travellers often stop along this scenic mountain road to observe the waterfall without requiring a long hike.
Despite its accessibility, the waterfall remains relatively less documented and is not officially listed among major waterfalls, making it a quieter and less crowded stop along the Nonpareil route.
