Getting around
Walk between nearby city-centre locations or use a tuk-tuk according to your accommodation location, mobility, and weather.
Practical route notes
- Follow the destination guide's modest-clothing, footwear, and religious-site guidance when visiting the temple.
- Kandy Lake is part of the practical route but is not presented as a separate destination card.
- Use a tuk-tuk for Kandy Viewpoint when you prefer to avoid the uphill journey from the city centre.
- Keep the day flexible instead of relying on exact arrival times, particularly during religious events or busy periods.

Travel from Kandy to Loolkandura Estate, visit James Taylor's Seat first, and then continue to the Kondagala trail for the hike before returning to Kandy.

Use a private high-clearance vehicle for the estate journey because the internal road is not suitable for every ordinary car.
Practical route notes

- James Taylor's Seat and Kondagala are reached through the same estate entrance.
- Visit James Taylor's Seat before continuing to the Kondagala hike.
- A local guide is not normally required for Kondagala, but follow estate directions and the trail guidance on the destination card.
- Avoid the hike during heavy rain, slippery conditions, or poor visibility.
